8-Day Diani Beach Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival & Nairobi Introduction

Depending on your arrival time, your first day may include light and relaxed activities tailored to your energy level.

Rather than following a fixed plan, this welcome day is designed to be flexible. After a long journey, some travelers prefer a gentle walk or a light introduction to the surroundings, while others simply want to rest and settle in.

You might enjoy a walk in Ngong Hills, a local café visit, a simple cultural experience, or just a quiet moment to recover from travel.

We decide the exact plan together once you arrive, ensuring a smooth, comfortable, and natural start to your journey — always adjusted to your pace.

Day 3 – Wildlife & Culture

The day begins at a calm and comfortable pace, allowing you to enjoy your morning before visiting the elephant orphanage at its official opening time.

Watching the elephants up close is a memorable and often emotional experience — a moment many travelers remember long after the journey ends.

From there, you continue to the Giraffe Centre, where you can stand face to face with these gentle animals and experience one of Nairobi’s most iconic highlights.

Day 8 – Final Day: A Gentle Farewell & Return to Nairobi

In the morning, we’ll head to Mombasa, where you can explore the vibrant coastal city, enjoy local shopping opportunities, and experience the unique atmosphere of Kenya’s historic seaside culture. From lively streets and local markets to the blend of African, Arab, and Swahili influences, Mombasa offers a memorable glimpse into everyday life on the Kenyan coast.

We then enjoy a shared lunch before beginning the journey back to Nairobi by train.

Upon arrival in Nairobi, we take a final moment together over coffee — a relaxed opportunity to reflect on the experience, exchange feedback, and close the journey in a comfortable and unhurried way.

Day 2 – Safari Experience

Today is one of the defining highlights of your journey.

You’ll head into Nairobi National Park for a private safari experience, guided by a licensed professional in a proper 4×4 safari vehicle. Here, open landscapes and close wildlife encounters create a powerful first connection to Kenya’s nature.

You can choose between a half-day safari (approximately 4–5 hours) or a full-day safari (approximately 8–10 hours), depending on your preference.

A special coastal lunch is served during the day, offering fresh local flavors in a unique setting.

In the evening, you have free time to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Diani Beach at your own pace. If you wish, your host is also available to accompany you in the evening, ensuring a relaxed and supported experience throughout the day.

Day 5 - Kisite Marine Park: Snorkeling & Dolphin Experience

Today is dedicated to the natural beauty of the Indian Ocean and the vibrant marine life along the coast.

We head out to the Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park, known for its clear waters, coral reefs, and diverse marine life. The day includes a guided snorkeling experience, where you can explore colorful underwater landscapes at a relaxed pace.

Dolphin sightings are often possible during the trip, adding a special highlight to the experience, though as with all wildlife, they cannot be guaranteed.

In the evening, the experience shifts into culture. Through traditional Kenyan music and dance, you’ll gain a deeper connection to local traditions, rhythm, and everyday life — not as a spectator, but as part of the atmosphere.

A shared meal is included during the day, either as lunch or dinner, depending on the final schedule.

Day 4 - Journey to the Coast & Diani Beach

The day begins with a relaxed breakfast, allowing you to start the morning at an easy pace.

After breakfast, we take a light introduction to Nairobi’s city center, offering a glimpse into local life, architecture, and the rhythm of the capital. This part of the morning is kept flexible and unhurried.

We then enjoy a shared lunch before continuing the journey to the coast.

In the afternoon, we travel from Nairobi to Mombasa by a comfortable first-class train, offering a scenic transition from inland landscapes to the coastal region.

Upon arrival in Mombasa, a private transfer takes you to Diani Beach, where you settle into your accommodation and unwind after the journey.

During the visit, you’ll also enjoy a traditional Giriama cultural dance performance, bringing music, rhythm, and storytelling together in an engaging and memorable way.

In the evening, we continue with a relaxed dining experience in Diani Beach, where you can enjoy a unique blend of Italian and Swahili flavors — reflecting the diverse cultural influences of the coastal region.

Day 6 - Giriama Culture & Diani Evening Experience

Today offers a deeper connection to local culture and everyday life along the coast.

We begin with a visit to a local Giriama village, where you’ll gain insight into traditional ways of living, community life, and cultural heritage. The experience is personal and respectful, offering a genuine look into the local lifestyle.

The day continues with time on the beach, allowing you to unwind further and enjoy the soft white sand and warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

As always, the schedule remains flexible and unhurried, giving you the freedom to shape the day to your preferences.

Day 7 -Robinson Island Sandbank & Beach Day

Today is dedicated to relaxation and the unique beauty of the coastal environment.

We head out to a remote sandbank, often referred to as “Robinson Island,” where you can experience the feeling of being surrounded by the ocean in a truly peaceful setting. Depending on the tide, the sandbank appears as a small island in the middle of the sea, offering a simple yet unforgettable experience.

You can swim, relax, or simply enjoy the open views and calm atmosphere at your own pace.

A half-day safari offers a lighter pace and a relaxed evening, while a full-day safari allows you to spend more time exploring the park, with a light packed meal enjoyed during the experience.

After the safari, the rest of the day is kept flexible — giving you time to rest, reflect, and take in everything you’ve experienced.

Your experience includes accommodation, first-class scenic train travel, airport transfers, local transportation, activities mentioned in the itinerary, and personal hosting throughout the journey with the same local host by your side from arrival to departure.

To make the experience feel relaxed and personal, one shared meal per day is also included.

Is Kenya safe for travelers?

Is this a group tour?
No. This is a private experience for your group only (up to 6 people). We do not combine different bookings.

Who will host the trip?

Is it possible to pay deposit first?
Yes. You can secure your booking with a 20% non-refundable deposit if the trip starts at least 30 days later.
